For the first time ever Jeep will have a new generation of wranglers and in order to round out the sales market they will have a 2wd option! What do you guys think?

In my opinion, it's no more heinous than the Compass, which in no way is a Jeep, in my opinion, the 7-slat grille and round lights notwithstanding. C'mon, how many Wranglers have you seen being driven around by ditzy sorority girls and cheerleaders? How many of them do you think actually go off-road? I think they just like taking the doors off and showing off their legs.

haha-how true is that! i think its pretty sweet that they have a 2wd option but i agree - if your not going to take your jeep off-roading, then why would you buy one in the first place. its cool though-im all for it!

This isn't the first time Jeep's had a 2WD. They made a lot of 2WD Cherokees, but the 4x4 Cherokees are plenty capable off-road, especially when fixed up. As long as they don't make the Wrangler Rubicon a wuss-mobile (which from the looks of things, they definitely haven't), then I don't care if they do a few "poser" models like a 2WD Unlimited or the Compass.

looks like insurance companies are going to have to find new reasons to overcharge ditzy sorority girls...well, atleast a nice excuse.

Yeah, 2WD Jeeps don't tick me off as much as the Compass and poser vehicles like that. What the heck is up with those stupid bobble-head commercials anyway?

Hey, don't bag on the bobbles! LOL The only way I would ever even test drive the stupid Compass is if they were giving away little Dieter Bobble Heads. (ok I lie, I would test drive one anyway.. but I still want the Dr Z Bobble)

Jeep is really heading towards death with things like this. Everybody knows Jeep as a tried and true hard core off road vehicle, which now it is not. Sure they still have the Wrangler Rubicon, but that is the only one of their current vehciles that I would even consider giving the 'Trail Rated' stamp to.

The day Jeep abandons the Wranger is the day that Jeep dies. Lets hope that day never comes.

I'm not a Jeep guy but I know that some older Jeeps came with Chevy turbo 350 transmissions. Is there an adapter available for this Jeep he can buy to change this Peugot trans out for a Chevy! and if so where can he get one? Thanks send answers to jwlandry2k2@hotmail.com
