Hello, I'm looking to purchase a desert guard for my:
1999 Ford F150 4x4 Lariat
I want the http://www.performanceproducts4trucks.com/productpage.aspx?pid=110658&name=Fabtech+Desert+Guards&type=20&pmake=FORD&pmodel=F-150%20PICKUP&referer=1469&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Froogle&utm_campaign=PP_Froogle
but the 1999 version is like 500-700 bucks, while the version for the 2004+ f150 is like under 250. Would the cheaper model fit on my truck? And if not, are there any companies that make desert guards that look similar to the fabtech style? I like the way how it looks like a real desert guard and sticks out a lot.

Also, does anyone have any ideas for mounting a spare in the back of my truck or purchasing a tailgate that accepts a tire on the back?

Thanks!!

I here u about the price of the desert guard for the 1999 f-150 it sucks i have been looking for a better price for two months. I also have a 2004 f-150 i am going to take a few measuerments to see if a newer one might be close enough i could make it work.

Good luck with that. The new trucks are completely different than the older body style. It's going to be more of a headache than it's worth and likely end up costing you more in the end.. Just save the cash and buy the one that fits.
