I am also new to the off road building. I just would like to know what I should do to make my 1997 jeep cherokee a little better off road. What should I do with the drivetrain, suspension, and what can I do about losing the bumpers for extra clearance. What are the necessities is what I am getting at. Don't want to spend too much. Thanks.

For the Cherokee you can't beat a Long Arm kit from Full Traction. Couple that with some Deaver Springs in the rear, a good set of shocks and you will be money!
