Whats your budget?

My vote would be a nice 220 MIG machine, something along the lines of the Miller 180, Hobart 180, or Miller 210.

I agree that a 220V machine is best by far. I had the best luck in my production fab shop with Lincoln in the smaller sizes (180 or smaller) and Hobart in the larger sizes. If you are lucky enough to have 3 phase power a 300 amp Hobart is unbeatable.

A 300 amp Hobart would be amazing! But when would you actually need that kind of a machine in automotive fabrication? Seems way overkill to me.

For a variety of reviews on a range of welders and generators, check out my brand new site over at: www.welders360.com

It's got just a few reviews up now, having only launched in December, but the site will be growing fast as new reviews pour in weekly, written by industry experts. I'll cover different price ranges as well.

There's something for everyone, novice and pro alike. I've got Hobart and Miller models, Briggs & Stratton generators, with much more on the way. I've got a sweet little Miller 140 MIG on there now, with others models and sizes coming soon. And at prices you'll love. There's even free shipping on selected models!

I'm aiming to make it one of the best welder review sites on the net!
