its entirely up to you
total chaos has long travel suspension kits that will let you keep the 4wd or get rid of it.  I heard its kinda of a pain to keep and I have a friend who races in MDR that has a 1996 Toyota Tacoma that is a 4x4.  He ended up taking it out because he was having problems
www.chaosfab.com is the website for the suspension kits.
Where are you located? what desert terrain will you be mainly be driving around in?
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Sweet i am from Vista too!
Do you want to do Mild offroading or hardcore Longtravel Suspension?
LT suspension are gonna run about 4-5 K with shocks
When i built my tacoma i got the Total Chaos Front end, then the roll cage, then worked my way to the rear suspension

I'm looking to make my tacoma a longtravel Taco and i'm aware of the high costs of it...   My tacoma has the 2.7L 4 cylinder in it, do you think that its gonna be able to hold?? and what kit do you think is better for the money, The Total Chaos or the Camburg??
