lol word. I being a fan of motors smaller than 2.0L, gas prices don't affect me too badly when I drive my Zuki 15-60 miles to the local trails but it still manages to affect me in some way because I find more often than not i have to head by myself (big no no ) because my v-8 friends cannot afford to either haul their rig or drive it to the destination. The bad part is that the government and oil companies know that people HAVE to drive every day and a nation wide strike would be impossible. Does anyone want to start a company that builds electric crawlers? By the way- I know how totally COOL it is to hear your locker squeal tires on the street when at a lower pressure but for the sake of saving gas air em up a *** Don't give them companies any more than we have to!

Well, now at $4.25/gallon I will admit that it has affected me... I have finally started choosing my trips wisely instead of just going out whenever I can... bummer...

I'm not driving my 4x4 as a daily anymore. Driving a small car so I can save up for off-road trips instead.

My 1990, 2.9 v6 rubberband motor gets 10 mpg city and 16mpg hwy with all the mods i have done my wieght is just about 4000lbs ... But my F350 turbo diesel pulling my 39ft fifth wheel.....Arrrrr just bend over and make sure you use a good lube cos we are all being screwed by the oil companies, I have cut my trips down, use a bike to commute, gotta love lane splitting in Cali, and today oil fell another 4 dollars a barrel.. to 120 a barrel, remember 18months ago when it was 120 a barrel gas was only 2.75-3 dollars a gallon so why are we paying over 4 a gallon when a barrel is the same price it was 18 months ago??? os we are all being YOU GOT IT !!

You kinda have your math wrong here. 18 months ago oil was 65 to 70 bucks a barrel for a bit. At 125/barrel there is about $2.98 per gallon in just crude oil costs before refining and distributing costs and then there is taxes too. The US has nobody to blame for this mess but themselves because for to many years energy was so cheap people wasted it. Had it costed more long ago it would have been used more wisely we would not be in this pickle today.

I wind up going out by myself and my kids to some trails around the local lake that are relatively mild until it rains, instead of driving several hours to an off road park. I also use it to drive to work, however I am lucky that my job allows me to work 3 days a week (two 16 hr days and one 8 hour day) to cut my gas bill down quite a bit.

The fuel prices helped Me get off My butt and look at differant ideas.I was hurt at work over a year ago and workmans comp has paid nothing,I just went to court six weeks ago,now they have 30 days to apeal,My attourny says it could go two years, so I started making Bio_ diesel costing me around 60-70 cent a gal.

You "might" make it for that if you are getting free waste vegetable oil but you are not going to make it for anywhere near that price from scratch with new supplies.

My Vegy oil is free from local restraunts. My methanol I pay 145.00 for 55gal,I make it 20 gal at a time.it takes 4 gal of meth and around 600 grams of sodium hyd.Sodioum hyd I get from local Omish.Hardest part is seperating gunk from oil before processing. you can buy peanut oil for 15.00 6 gal so the cost would come out to about 3 dollors a gal if a person wanted all new.

Gas is dropping still... but it still costs almost $300 in gas alone just to take the pre-runner out for one weekend. Sucks.
