I have an '87 Ranger 2.3 liter that i want to make into a prerunner. Is it even possible with that old of a truck? I need ideas to make this truck into a bad ass off roader but still remain street legal.

That is the PERFECT truck to build into a prerunner!

Get yourself a set of extended beams, Camburg or Giant will do nicely, some Deaver springs for the rear, a bolt on bed cage and engine cage, shocks for the rear, coilovers for the front, maybe some hydraulic bump stops, get some 4.56 gears for it, some fiberglass for the front, a set of 33/12.5 tires and you'll have a pretty capable/fun truck!
