This was officially announced this week, so I wanted to give you a "Heads-up":
The "Kajun Mudfest" will be hosted at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite, Louisiana on the weekend of March 13-15, 2009. (Amite is located approx. 1 hour North of New Orleans off I-55)
The event will feature 2 side-by-side mud racing pits, with classes for trucks and ATV's. Kids events are planned as well, TBA.
Entry fees and admissions will be kept very reasonable and the prize purses will be generous, as we are trying to make this an annual event and need racers' support to get this inaugural one off the ground!
RV parking will also be available. There are over 30 spots with power and water hookups and acres more where you can park and use your generator. The facility has nice hot showers and is top-notch!
More info will be forthcoming after the first of the year, but I wanted to let you know the date so you can make plans to participate. A website is also under construction so you can easily check out the rules, classes, etc, etc. I'll keep you posted as things progress.

Just wanted to come back and post the "rules" for this event. Entry fee is $25 per racer, per day. Pit admission for non-racers is $20 per day or $30 for the weekend. RV hookups are $30 and reservations are suggested (ASAP) if you would like power/water hookup.
Also, if you want to just come and watch, grandstand admission is just $10 for adults and teenagers and $5 for youth age 4-12. (3&under admitted free)
You're free to arrive on the 13th, but racing will be only Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at Noon each day of the event.
Saturday evening, we'll be hosting the Miss Kajun Mudfest Swimsuit contest too! (PG-rated suits only, please) and there will be lots of things for the kids to enjoy!
Vendor opportunities are still available, contact me ASAP so we can talk about that if you're interested.
