The 10K Explorer Challenge!

Hi.  This is my first post here, but I think you might like this idea.

This is a project idea for not just Off-Road, but all the wheeling mags under the Source Interlink Media brand.  (Well, not JP for obvious reasons.)

Take ten grand, buy an Explorer and build it to represent your magazine.  Meaning its mission and audiance.

Once they are all built at a given deadline, They are all "tested" together to show the advantages and weaknesses of each.  (Without destroying them in the process.)

Then they are:
A)  Auctioned off with proceeds going to a trail saving charity.

B)  Given away in a sweepstakes.

The rules for the Explorer is that it must be of the four door variety; and all prices for parts and accessories must be listed.  (Since all of you are in the same building, price variance should be nill.) The rest is up to the builder.

The testing is the hardest part, It needs to be challenging enough for what you would build, yet be realitic enough for the milder builds of 4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility magazine.  I'm sure the major domos of each magazine could come together and figure something out.

So what do you think?  

Where do you propose we get the $10g's?
