so im pretty new to this sport, ive got a '99 explorer that i would love to be able to romp out in the dunes. ive been doing alot of home work on this and no idea on where to start. ive been wanting to put a long travel kit on and have been pricing all of them from camburg, dixon, and few others. ive been told in other forums about doing a spindle lift, but how well do they perform? and also if i started out with a spindle lift would i be able to add on to it to eventually make it into a full out l.t.? i have alot of questions about what to put on and how to do it so could you please help out a bit
p.s. i live out in new mexico and i dont know who i can go to for instalation of parts that a off road mechanic should put on. could i go to just about anyone who does lifts or should it be done by a specialaist?

No, you can not make a spindle lift into a long travel kit. They are two very different things.
What do you want to do with it exactly? Do you want it to look cool or perform well? What is your budget? What are your expectations?

i would like performance out of it something that can withstand a beating on weekends and still be able to drive to and from school and work. im on a pretty tight budget but i can save up more for a good kit.

Save more. If you want to beat on it and still drive home the way you are saying you are going to need a LT kit, $4-6,000.
