Im looking at buying a jeep cherokee and have been looking at lift kits to get an idea of what i want to do with it. I know the difference between blocks and hangers for the leafs, but my question is what would be better as far as stability and articulation? Would i be better off with a block lift or hangers or a combination of the two. If someone could give me any suggestions it would be appreciated.

You will always be better off with new springs and shackles instead of blocks. Blocks are cheap, and that is all they are.
