Dear Off-Road Enthusiasts:
In the world we live in there are good sporting events, there are great sporting events and then there are LEGENDS. Well, the BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" is just that, a legend in off-road desert racing ~ “THE LEGEND LIVES ON!”

The Parker Legend started in 1972, known as the Big River “400”, on to the Dam “400”, then Parker “400” and grew to become a legend in off-road desert racing. The Best In The Desert is keeping this great event, there’s no question about it, it’s better today and it’s a race you don’t want to miss. There’s no better way to start your 2009 racing season then with the BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425", “The Legend Lives On!”

The BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" no doubt stands alone as one of everyone’s favorite races of the “Silver State Series!” All year long this is what we hear from racers, “Parker is my favorite race” “Parker is the best race going.” “I love going to Parker.” The lure of the challenge, as well as the excitement of this great legend in off-road races is attracting interest from all over the United States, it is attracting those who are looking for a true “American Off-Road Adventure!” If you like off-road adventure, if you would like to race on an exciting off-road race course, if you like long distance off-road racing, then you MUST come and participate in the BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425".

The BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" will be a high caliber gathering of off-road racing’s best, to test their off-road racing skills against the many unforeseen challenges the beautiful Arizona terrain has to offer. If you like exciting off-road races, and you want to be a part of a legend, then enter the BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425". Make no mistakes about it, the BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" is not your typical garden-variety weekend race! It begins on Thursday, February 5, with an exciting “Time Trial” event, which determines Top starting positions in Class 1400 & 1500 only. A new section has been added to the Parker "425", the PARKER PYTHON! The Python will be a rough section of jumps in front of thousands of cheering spectators, it is a great section that you will race to get back to, and you have two chances to test your skills against the Parker Python! The BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" has something for everyone; The beautiful backdrop of the Colorado River, Time Trials, Race Legends, the Parker Python, the beautiful BlueWater Resort & Casino, Shea Road Spectating Area, and the exciting long distance, off-road race challenge, the BlueWater Resort Parker "425"!

BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" UPDATE

1) BREAKING NEWS – The BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker "425" WILL BE RUN IN SAME DIRECTION as 2008!

2) The NEW EXTENDED PARKER PYTHON and Spectating Areas will be in the MAIN PIT! The area will be a mile and a half of a horseshoe layout so that all pit support crews can watch the action on the NEW ENLARGED PARKER PYTHON! The Main Pit area has been extended by another half-mile, to accommodate more support crews, and it will be watered down as much as possible, you’ll have a clear view for watching your favorite racers race the NEW PARKER PYTHON!

3) CONTINUED FOR 2009! The ROOKIE OF THE YEAR was a big success for the 2008 racing year and we will again award the Rookie of the Year for 2009. The ROOKIE that starts with us in Parker and races ALL FIVE RACES and finishes with the most points earned will win the ROOKIE of the YEAR AWARD!! Check our website for the ROOKIE OF THE YEAR criteria.

4) TIME TRIALS ~ There will be “Time Trials” to determine start positions at 1 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2009. The Top fastest vehicles will start in the order in which they qualify in the Time Trials. Only two classes will be allowed to qualify for the Top starting positions, Class 1400 and Class 1500. You must be a PRE-ENTRY to participate in the Time Trials, we will not accept any entry forms at the Time Trials.

THE TIME TRIALS IS AN OPTIONAL EVENT, if you do not participate in the Time Trials there will be a “Draw” for start positions and you will be placed in the draw order of your class after the participants of the time trials are placed. The Draw for Start Positions is Thursday, January 23, get your entry forms in!
5) PRE-RACE PARTY, HOSTED BY McKENZIE’S PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS ~ Thursday Afternoon, February 5, 2009 at the BlueWater Resort & Casino; be there and we will announce the results of the Time Trials.

6) COURSE DISTANCE ~ The Parker "425" is a 140-mile loop raced 3 times, with 5 additional miles at the start and 1 additional mile at the finish raced 1 time only, equaling 426 total miles! New cut-off to the finish on a paved road!

7) DESIGNATED PITS ~ There are four (4) pits out on the course, plus one (1) Main Pit in Parker, Start to Pit 1 = 29 miles (MM 29), Pit 1 to Pit 2 = 23 miles (MM 52), Pit 2 to Pit 3 = 37 miles (MM 89), Pit 3 to Pit 4 = 13 miles (MM 102), Pit 4 to Main Pit in Parker = 38 miles (MM 140). There will be NO Alternate Pit at Midway, a NEW PIT has been established at Mile 29 (Pit # 1.)

8) The Parker "425" Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Pre-Fun Run will be a 1-day only pre-fun run on Sunday, January 11, 2009! This will be your only opportunity to see the Parker "425" course! You will be able to pre-run in any vehicle you want, but you MUST have a license plate on it; however, NO Motorcycles, Quads or UTV’s are allowed on the pre-fun run. The pre-fun run will leave very early, we will cover the entire 140-mile loop in one day and we recommend that you make a reservation at the BlueWater Resort & Casino for Saturday night, January 10, 2009, they will accept a Saturday night, 1-night only reservation ~ (888) 243-3360 ~ Call today! We will be stopping and having lunch along the course; we will be collecting a $10 fee from everyone on the pre-run and this will handle the cost of the lunch.

9) 2009 GRAND CHAMPION ~ Best In The Desert will present a 2009 Grand Champion. This Grand Champion will be the OVERALL points winner for the entire 2009 “Silver State Series” in the Car/Truck Division. Set your sights NOW on becoming the 2009 Best In The Desert “Silver State Series” Grand Champion!!! The more entries in a Class the more points towards the Grand Championship!

10) POINT SYSTEM ~ Best In The Desert will REVISE the 2009 Point System. The 2009 point system will give a racer a chance to DNF a race and still remain competitive and race for a Class Championship but you will need to START ALL FIVE races to be a contender for a Class Championship!

11) IriTrack Real-Time Satellite Tracking System is MANDATORY for ALL Car & Truck classes, for all of 2009, including Class 1800, Safari Pre-Runner Class. Please call IRC at 714-544-0668 to order your IRC tracking system today!

12) TRANSPONDERS are for SCORING and they ARE MANDATORY for all race vehicles, including cars, trucks, utv’s, motorcycles and quads. The Transponders are $80 and if you send in your $80 to the Best In The Desert office we will send you your transponder early so you can have it mounted on your race vehicle prior to tech inspection! If you purchased a transponder in 2008 it will still work, but you must make sure we get the correct bar code # logged in with your new race vehicle #, they have to match!
