im pretty new here in the sense of posting, but a long time reader. lately i've been looking for a new truck to replace the old chevy i've got. i wanna build a trail-mud truck from a ohh lets say 98 ranger? the only catch is, i for some reason, love the looks of the pre runner trucks. so what i wanna do is throw a fiberglass front end conversion kit for a pre runner onto it. can be found here: http://fiberwerx.com/html/ford/ranger/1piece_gallery07xtreme.html
i use to live in the northeast, pa. i love mudding and trail riding but joining the military popped that balloon. buttttt im getting switched stations from florida to new jersey here in the next week and i was thinking this would be the perfect time to start this custom chop job.
another thing is, i have no idea about ford rangers..at all. if someone could help me build this thing from the ground up that'd be great. im open to any suggestions. suspension, beefing *** up, wheels, tires, just give me the whole run down and i'll go from there.
what i have in mind now is that front end conversion kit, maybe xd monster 18" wheels, fender flairs on the stock bed, i like the Daytona Sunset Orange paint found on vetts. but getting it jacked up is still in questions. tips hints? im hoping for a good learning experence, thanks guys. -Chuck

If you want to run that clip you are going to need a serious Long Travel kit, something like a Camburg Race Kit. That clip is something silly like 84 or 88" wide, stock Rangers are 72" wide.
Sounds like you would be much better off with a Superlift kit.
