Then who do we trust? Last time I checked there is no independent organization setting vehicle safety standards...

I just saying thing haven't really gotten any better with the more reg. that have been put in places. For instense, the new afterburner system put on newer diesal seem to be giving senser problem in most big rig engines and they just started putting these on light trucks, cummins for instense, talk to alot of diesal engine mechanics and you will find that these systems fail at the site of a heavy load. CATs are getting really bad for this, one of the reasons they are getting out of big rigs. These systems were rushed into production because the government wasn't in touch with whats needed for proper testing. Another instense I came across was safety standards from WASH. State. A client of the dealership I was working for had just bought a former gray hound bus from a dealership just outside of Seattle. It had been safety inspected at that dealership and had passed. It had to be safety inspected here of course and it didn't pass, not even closes. First, all the brakes were shot, with two rotors cracked. Second, the wheel bearings for the tag axle were seized and had to be cut off, left the way they were, the tires would have broke looses and flew off into traffic. Third, all the tie rods were gone and the king pins were border line. This was just the short list, there was far more. I don't have anything against your government, its just, I don't think they have the best people under them doing there jobs. Besides, I don't want to see fellow wheel get injured or killed because of bad engineering.

Now we're comparing apples and oranges...
We are talking brand new vehicles with safety standards governed by the Federal Government. Not used medium duty/heavy duty commercial vehicles.

Good Point!!
Life....it's not about how hard you can hit but how hard you can get hit and keep pushing forward, how much you can take and keep pushing forward! - Rocky Balboa
