The 2010 Ford SVT Raptor has been making headlines for Ford and it's not stopping. A while back we heard that even the U.S. Border Patrol Officers wanted some Raptors for there squad and today we find out that all 1500 trucks are sold and that 31% of them will be used for Off-Roading.

Color popularity is decidedly in favor of Raptor-exclusive Molten Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, and Tuxedo Black, with each color representing 40 percent of orders. Customers also want their off-road truck complete with lots of options. Orders reflect consumers’ appetite for technology with:
* More than 80 percent ordered with Luxury Package, which includes heated seats, 10-speaker Sony® Audio system and dual zone temperature control * 55 percent with Navigation, Sony Audio and SIRIUS Travel Link™ * 60 percent with Exterior Graphics Package * 70 percent with power moonroof
Orders for Raptor have come from all across the United States, with 94 percent coming from males with a median age of 39. A survey of customers placing retail orders shows that:
* 16 percent purchased F-150 SVT Raptor as a collectible * 31 percent purchased F-150 SVT Raptor for off-roading * 19 percent purchased F-150 SVT Raptor for towing and hauling

Why? 97% of people know it's true. You're not one of the 3% are you?

I've never heard that 76% of stats are all false. Where did you hear this?? HAHAHA....I guess I'm one of those 3%. I'm glad to see the Raptor be a good success for Ford. They need it....although not as bad as GM or Chrysler!!!

I would love to get the address for all the people that bought Raptors and said they aren't going to off-road them so I can go kick them in the balls... what a waste of a truck... that's what a normal F-150 is for!

Wow....that's a bit harsh don't you think?? I mean what if they got the truck for Construction purposes?? What then?? Would you still kick them in the balls??

Yup. Why would you get a Raptor for construction? The payload of the Raptor vs a stock F150 is noticeably lower due to the softer rear springs.
Why would a contractor want to spend money that he doesn't need to on a truck that is less capable for his needs? Seems like a very bad business decision to me.
