I saw an email from Downey saying they had gone out of business, but several other companies were interested in buying some of their product line. Who will be buying, and what product lines will be offered ?

copy of email:
Downey Off Road Mfg. ceased operation on July 31, 2009.
There are ongoing negotiations with six different well known companies who are interested in continuing major portions of the Downey product line. You will no doubt find Downey products at one or more of those companies in the near future. We thank your for being a part of our 39 year history.

Wow....39 years and now it's all over. I'm sure they will be missed by enthusiasts.

Bummer.

Honestly though, did they make anything that was relevant anymore?

They had a lot of good stuff for older trucks, like my 94 toyota. I was gonna order some stuff. Some things were priced really well, like the torsion bars they had for $158 and everyone else wants over $200... I have no idea what they offered for newer trucks.

Well that's probably why they ran out of business. If they hadn't upgraded there hardware into the new milenium then yea. With everything moving forward into "new" the old seems to get forgotten.

Yea, their old Yota stuff was great, but that market had to be drying up.

I seriously doubt it since there is no 'they' anymore.
