Still is there someone I can talk to about building my own rad. arms, shocks mounts, and if they could be any steering issue. Its just that I can get steel really cheap compared to everyone else, and would like to try it myself. If what I want to do isn't really do able then hey, I will certainly go the kit route.

I still want to keep the CoG a little lower than what 4-5" of lift would bring. I have tried trucks with that much lift in them at speeds/jumps and felt that they would have better control on the landings if they had a lower CoG. The susp. probly needed more tuning or as my exp. with dirt track racing has shown me is that you build the car around the drivers exp. and/or vises. 50% of off roading to me is building/hand fabricating as much stuff as I can, including frames, cages, susp., etc.

As much as I'd like to keep you here... go to www.dezertrangers.com and browse around there. They should be able to answer all of your beam related questions and then some.

Hey, dude, well we are on the subject, it might not come to no surprise to you that I am a big fan of Jeep Mag.'s "No Lift TJ and YJ, as well as, Lower 40 JK. Have you guys ever given any though to doing something like this in your mag. only with something else other than a Jeep.

That's pretty much the philosophy of most desert guys. Stuff the largest tire with the least amount of lift. It helps keep the center of gravity low. Look at a Trophy Truck for example, they are typically no taller than a stock 1/2 ton pickup, yet they run 39-40" tall tires.

Have we thought about this build, yes. Will it happen, who knows... I would like it too!

Heck, my Ranger sits about as tall as a stock Edge/4x4 Ranger and I've got 35's... so we're almost there.

i also have an 88ford f150 and i'm glad i ran into your thread because this is what i'd really like to do with my truck as well , let me know what you run into , i ran into a couple of kits that also come with radious arms and a pitman arm for lifted applications ....

oh i already have 35's with only front leveling springs...
