Hey people,

I just bought a 1978 K5 Blazer from an owner who had passed away. His wife knew nothing about the truck and now Im left with alot ton of unknowns. What I do know is that it has a 350, 400 B&M tranny, 6 inch lift, pushin 35" tires. I dont know the first thing about bein a mechanic SO I changed the spark plugs and wires, tranny filter, oil, and now im stuck. The truck wants to bog down when you stomp the gas or when you are halfway up a incline. I (not knowing anything) think that the Edlebrock on it needs replaced....I talk to one person and they say Holley, I talk to another they say Edlebrock, then I talk to someone who said a Motorcraft 1200 would be good for me as a starter....what can i put on here thats off-road ready, reasonable, but will keep this thing runnin! Any help much appreciated!

I would start by changing the fuel filter and see where that gets you.

Next check the fuel pump.

Then clean the carb.

If none of that works then maybe you need a new carb, but I wouldn't go just buying a new one right off the bat.

The fuel pump, if not working properly, tends to do this from time to time. I would check the fuel pump first before making any major unnecessary purchases.

Did you know the 2010 trucks are coming with non-serviceable fuel filters? Crazy huh.

So any update on this Cruiser?
