Wandering if anyone knows the part name for the part that comes out of the rear end and attaches to the driveshaft. Can this part be replaced?

Pinion Yolk. And yes it can.

What kind of axle? In most cases you just remove the pinion nut and knock off the pinion yolk, it's splined on. You'll have to reset the pinion bearing preload when you put the new one on though.
