Hooters Weight Probation?

Now I'm sure all of you have heard of HOOTERS...the family restaurant! Well I enjoy Hooters as much as next the guy and I enjoy the environment. The food is great and the ladies provide fantastic company. However, this story got me a bit depressed as apparently they are actually putting probation on weight. Now I will be the first to say that I understand that weight might play a role into the hooter girls genre, if you will, but to put someone on probation because she gained a couple pounds is just a sad statement.

Cassandra Smith, of Roseville, said that she was called into an office at the Hooters at 14 Mile and Gratiot last week for her yearly evaluation. Her assistant manager and general manager were present, and two women were on a conference call from Hooters of America Inc. headquarters in Atlanta.

After the women informed her she had excellent marks for customer satisfaction and cooperation with coworkers, she was told she received the lowest marks for her "uniform fitting."

"I was confused because I don't wear the biggest uniform size," Smith said in a phone interview. Smith is 5 foot 8 inches and weighs 132 pounds.

She was then offered a free gym membership and given 30 days to improve. If by 60 days she did not comply, she could lose her employment, she said. "I was just completely embarrassed," Smith said.

Any thoughts? Ladies I'm sure you'll find this offensive.

it was said it jest in all honesty i don't partake in eating at hooters i've been and don't see a need to go back. i would not wish ill on any worker there but wouldn't shed a tear if the place just closed its doors.
