95 silverado front suspension

I have a 95 silverado and im trying to figure out what is the best way to attack my front suspension. i would like to stay with my ifs if possible i just want to beef them up a bit so im not breaking parts all the time. is there a way to do this or is going with a straight front axle really my only choice? im also trying to get as much bang for my buck as possible so best performance for the dollar is a major priority cause i have other projects going as well. any advice would be appreciated.
